Dandelion Wine

Thank God you see me the way you do
Strange as you are to me
Come, let us share the iron
Come, let us share the wine
Drink of dream and cotton clouds
And never wake to find each other: gone.

Thank God you see me the way you do
Strangers in perfect harmony
Love is a fragile word
On airwave frequencies we lay
Dragons' heads writhing beneath us
And we just don't care.

Thank God that I'm here
Because In Dreams is where nothing dies
And in dreams are where I take your life
And you don't ever have to miss me
Or fall as hard again to see---

I am here
Where nothing dies
Floating in space
With you.

Author notes

TRVIA and INSPIRATION:

"I will meet you where nothing dies."
~Zen Koan

I listened to the song "In My Lady's House" on a perpetual loop, writing this.

Let's free fall. (Click here)

I also was thinking about the song "In Dreams" by Roy Orbison writing this.

The name of this piece is taken from an amazing Ray Bradbury novel.

I might give this piece a massive revision, though.

"and each morning she wakes/with a dream to describe/something lovely that bloomed/in her beautiful mind/I said I'll trade you one for two nightmares of mind/I've got somewhere I die/I've got somewhere we all die"

that just came on my iPod loop as I was reading this. coincidence? I think not!

This is beautiful. Although I slept quite well last night, I really wish I could have read this first. I love it, James.
