Como La Flor

The other day, I saw the most beautiful rose I had ever seen.
It was a deep, dark red, with the faintest
hint of black along its edges.
Every petal was spread out and open so that
it could swallow the world whole.
I sat and I thought to myself on how beautiful it was,
and it almost brought me to tears.
But then looked again,
and the only thing I could think about, was you.
And I realized that the petals could never hold me
like you could hold me.
It's smell would never be as sweet
and intoxicating as your own.
It's color could never be as warm
and inviting as your eyes.
Even it's touch,
which was the softest, most gentlest thing I have ever felt,
would never, ever
compare to your soft skin when you take my hand,
hold me close,
and kiss me.
You are the only thing that could ever bring me to tears
and place a smile on my face at the same time.
At that moment I realized that you were more beautiful than anything in the entire world
and that I would do anything, just to see you smile.
I love you...

Please tell me what you think

    pretty

The language is nice and the concept is very beautiful, but it doesn't go with the option. I probably confused you, so I'm sorry about that. I wanted something about an intense personal experience, not about thoughts. Maybe I'm still not making sense, but I hope you get my gist. If you got into round two, you must be a very talentedt writer, so please try again. In your new piece, though, please remember to put your screen name in your author's notes. Thanks!

Cute story... this really fits more with option 4 than 3 though... This may have been a sappy love poem, but then again, it was well-written. I especially liked the lines:

"Every petal was spread out and open so that
it could swallow the world whole."

That made it sound cool... thank you for entering my contest and good luck.
