Every laugh,
every smile.
all of this is painful memories.
everything i choose not to remember,
comes back in the end to tear the needle and thread,
logged in my vein desperately trying to sew me whole again.
I never wanted to see your face again.
Never really wanted your face in my head.
I never wanted you to touch me.
I never wanted you to love me.
you screwed me over, but i took my chance.
It's too late to turn back now,
closing my eyes and seeing you is the hardest thing,
I'll ever have to do.
I could walk on glass, I could walk through fire.
but there's nothing i could do to keep you from walking away.
I saw you never look back
and i saw you when you cut the slack.
I packed up and moved away,
but these painful memories are here to stay.
I can't turn my face to run from your disgrace.
can't let you see me cry.
but I can let you see me stay there and rot.
this is my goodbye to you,
and every single thing you put me through,
every painful memory that i close my eyes to.
