Night is falling again,
the tapestry of tragedy settling over a weeping globe.
Stars nor moon grace your forgotten path
and even the breeze refuses to move
in the forbidding gloom.
You’ve stolen my heat it seems.
Fire flew from tear-filled eyes
as the questions you left unspoken vibrated around my very being
and cut through my sanity.
It was only one look,
sent though the nations from one not so different than myself,
returning words to lips long silent
and winds of passion to a pen discarded.
And so we speak of peace.
I can sense its breath,
not as I sense a stirring wind,
but rather in the expansiveness of the unknown depths
beyond its unseen edge.
Fear not sweet child of falling
just don’t forget to
breathe...

"the tapestry of tragedy settling over a weeping globe"
Excellent way to describe the atrocities that are happening world-wide at this very moment.
Ah yes...we must remind those who are suffering to breathe. It just seems that so many are breathing their last breaths. There is a yearning in this work for righteousness. Genocide in any fashion is evil, ill, unrighteous. Your poem passionately strokes the canvas with a vibrant brush. This is hauntingly beautiful! I wish you well with the challenge and thank you for participating.
Blessings ♥
