Summer in the Sea.

The earth is warm from the radiant sun.
As i say my goodbyes for a while.

Australia is around the corner and i plan to enjoy it so.

The Reef was a journey...a world in it's own.
With colors, and life everywhere.
The sea was cool with the wind and the sun.
Bubbles everywhere added to my joy.

We reach the top of the bridge a bit winded at most.
But the view to the ocean is breathetaking.
The air is hung with the salty smell, that was filled my nostrils for weeks now.

New Zealand is next, roadtrip???

The Maori greet us with dances and singing.
And teach us the stories they have stored.

The island is so quite but for the laughter of our summer retreat.

Even here we swim in the salty water, that laps at our feet on shore.

Fiji, is fun with the ocean surrounding it completely.

An island so descreet you'd sail right by it without knowledge.
The bike ride to the shore is so fun.
We laugh and we play, on these terribly sunny days.

By the end we have sunburns like lobsters.
But the sun feels so good mixed with the ocean.
So we shrug it off for the best.

The summer has come to an end, but the memories live on.
At school they ask what you did over the summer.
They ask you were you stayed for a while.
I look at them with a grin and a shrug.
"I spent my summer in the sea."

Author notes

I'm gonna go to all these places this summer and i hope it's as fun as i imagine them to be...because everywhere that i go i'll be surrounded by the sea and the idea of that really appeals to me.

    Wonderful

A truly colorful and fun-filled poetic travelogue, which is like a breath of balmy and breezy fresh air after reading a few too many dark and dank poems- my own included. Thanks for sharing this wonderful journey. Best of luck

Oh I love the imagery you used!! I hope you have a wonderful summer and it would be interesting for you to write a poem comparing your expectations for the trip (this poem) and what it really was like! Good job!
