I know what you are thinking,
how I look the fool
in my costume
that you sneer at
like it was a joke.
But it is really a mirror
for looking deep into your soul,
testing your senses and mind,
till I can possess them
and then you will discover
if I am demon or angel,
only after I have drained you dry
of every emotion
allowing you to pay
with terror and wonder
the price of ignorance
over not sensing the power
woven in my ancient garb of Eastern sorcery.
By then we shall see
how you truly react to my spells,
will you spill your guts of every secret
or have them pour out in bloody stains
upon the cement?

Yikes! I can only hope that I would err on the side of cynical discernment. I'd hate to find my guts laying around anywhere, voluntarily or involuntarily!
An interest discussion about the power of deception on outward appearances. It is so easy to make improper judgements (for good and for bad) on others. Thankfully, most of our perceptions are concerning our fellow man, and not angels and demons. On the other hand, that's why improper discernment can be so damaging, both to ourselves and to others.
This was a really cool write. Totally enjoyed it! -

first stanza is rockin! and your words are so perfect that when you transition into a more serious tone it flows to well and doesnt jump. i took a little extra time to examine this pic and it looks like his fingers are broken!
