I am not just a shadow
that appears and disappears
I am of substance
with real hopes and fears
Working towards a dream
that seems so unreal
But I know it will happen
I just know that it will
Even when the darkness
shadows the mind
Attempting to steal
what destiny entwined
I feel in my heart
the dream will come true
It may take a little while
but this I already knew
I fight away the doubt
that takes me down
Working my way back
onto higher ground
I know the dreams worth
and I'll continue to fight
Knowing deep in my spirit
that this is what's right
I will not allow darkness
to steal what is mine
I will firmly stand
and never resign
