The Circus

The music mated and mingled before us,
Dancing jesters abound,
Only smiles were allowed,
My smile was being closely observed by the ravenous crowd

The children were content and innocent and hid their faces,
The lustful queens allowed for tastes in dismay from those who would continue to take and take with lecherous gazes

The other, her first time, invites:
"Hey do ya wanna good time tonight?" But he wanted it for the rest his life

Crimson and ember in neon lights flare above the open air,
Screaming masses,
Is the muiltidude aware?
Is this joy without a care?

Delights are plentiful, gluttony and agony hand in hand.
The man takes the blade and drives into himself the source of both pain and pleasure, again and again for entertainment beyond measure- flowing red rose:
The crowd approves with blows.

Roaring winds of iron on planks, clowns in grim orange and purple gowns walk flank by flank, the ringleader observes with glee and then he sees me.
The room around becomes less and less free, and in turn becomes an endless sea of insanity with masks surrounding touching, and groping me.
And as I scream the sound neither escapes my lips nor mind willingly but instead leads me to scream incoherently.

The wandering carnival souls playing their strange notes of old.
The wandering carnival souls devouring wonder and young fire whole.
The wandering carnival souls of whose joy and contentment we have been told.
