I Should have Died

I should have died all the ways there is to die,
But God said I want you to be a chosen vessel
And live eternally after death.

I should have died when I was sick
But God said I will spare your life
For I have a purpose for you.

I should have died instead of my father
But God said I want this in your story and testimony
I should have died but I felt the pain.

I should have died when a hole was made in my heart,
I did not die but I felt the pain.

Then God said "Oh daughter, do not pounder on these things
Says the Lord nay did I not spare your life when you were
Young, for I have a purpose and a plan for you.
When people say to go this way and that
Do not listen to them for I have laid a path for you.
Daughter you shall grow in wisdom and truth."
And that hole healed.

Though the scar is still there I am not dead.
I should have died all the ways there is to die,
But God said, "I love you." And he stretched out his arms
And died I should have died in his place, but God said
"I did not die I defeated death and now I have risen
For your sake and the sake of others."
I should have died but God said,
I want you in my book the book of life.

    JESUS IS ALIVE!

Lovely read; the devil is cunning. Sometimes, he tells us that life's not worth living, but God always comes to save us

    Keep believing

I like this, there are many of us, alive now, who could maybe say they 'should have died.' I am one of them. This is a wonderful piece full of inspiration and hope. Keep writing. You are very good.

    All the best

There are many times when we feel we should have died, but the truth is, God has a plan for us and we did not die because that was not his plan. You have done an amazing job expressing this truth. Great write!

How true -we often wonder why others are taken and we remain - there is a purpose yet for us and we will find that out as we continue through our life. Have been in that situation - car accident, passenger died, I survived by just inces. Often questioned why - now I know it was to look after my mother who has dementia, and help with the grandkids who are having problems. Always a reason. Sentiments well expressed in these lines - easy to read and understand.

    I love it!

It is so true. he did die for us and we have feel that we have nothing to give him return. He heals our broken hearts and guides us on his path. We can't just forget that he will always love us no matter what mistakes we made.

That is the power and widom of God . He takes what we think is not useful and make it of some use. Thank Him everyday and remember what He has done for you for it will give you more strength and knowledge of Him. Thanks for sharing.
