Life is a cage
and I'm gonna die,
I'm finding this hard
I'm not gonna lie.
Something has happened
and life's not the same
school is now some place
where idiots rein.
I guess I was once
what I now despise,
hiding behind those
pathetic little lies.
But somehow I've changed
and I've seen the light
and without me here
I know you'll be allright.
For one day I'll leave
all this behind
and this little note
is all that you'll find.
If you think you must cry
shed only ONE tear
and know that I'm living
on without fear.
But today I'll be happy
and pretend to be fine,
all this will soon be over,
Just give me some time.

I love the way your last and first stanza differed so greatly. Depressing and courageous. You crafted and structured this extremely well! I love the way you picked up, the amazing strength behind your lines!!!
Beautiful, beautiful work. There is tons of emotion in this piece. I loved every line! The quote is pretty sad, and quite depressing, but you turned it around and gave it light, not just dark.
