Love and Chopsticks
Can she hold a pleasant conversation?
Can she keep my attention past its peak?
Can she meet my obscure expectation?
And how many languages does she speak?
Does she speak and look as a lady aught?
But be just as cute in T-Shirt and jeans?
Could she kiss and forgive after we fought?
Can she dance Salsa? Have a smile that beams?
Can she quote me some Byron or Millay?
Knows how to dance and how to be led?
Not talk too much, but know just what to say,
Will she eat Crawfish, and suck on the head?
Would she like to travel to distant lands?
What parts of the world would she like to see?
Does she love to feel her feet in the sand?
Know the difference in Whisky and Whiskey?
Can she be proud enough to show me off?
Can she love me, but sometimes be a tease?
Can she be innocent, but not too soft?

I smiled brightly and laughed hard while reading this piece. It contains so much soul and lots of love! What I enjoyed most was how you posed it all in question (like one of your friends announcing they've found the girl for you) and how you truly put what you look for in a girl. Fantastic job! as you can probably guess, this is somewhat of a checklist. i have this thing called the "Chopstick Theory" which hasn't proven wrong yet. basically, date 3 or 4 go to a decent Chinese or Japanese resturant and pick up some chopsticks, offering her some. if she uses them, all is right with the world, and there will be a date #5. if not... well, she may be fun to hang with or mess around with, but probably nothing serious. some day i'll have to give you my reasoning behind the theory. hasta!
