Where's My Happy Ending?

My pain is deep
Rooted deeply inside me
All I feel is sadness and despair
Nothing hurts me more
Than the way you look at me
Teardrops like the falling rain
My anger could melt
Any hateful word you throw at me
Confusion settles in
I thought love was supposed to last
Not fizzle until it dies
Did you mean anything you said
Or was that too a sugar coated kiss
Blinding me
From seeing who you really are
Where's my happily ever you promised me?

    Great title for this poem - sentiments well expressed in these lines; easy to read and understand what you are saying here. We can promise happy endings, but sometimes life throws us a curve and we go with the flow. No guarantee in this world...
