We were lingering at
the doorway
to my lily-white room
materializing
as creeping trellis over doubts
There was a moment of hesitation
and then I kissed you through the door
Our skin was burning
When you pressed your body to mine
my silk dress burned away
the applique doves came to life and flew away
with the ashes
Your eyes were dark
as you pulled me onto your hips
The bed gave way
to sunset surrenders and the joinings of ceramic skin
to the endless haunting hungers of high tide
romancing
I felt our bodies falling
like we were filtering into the bottom
of an hourglass
sifting through time
so maybe we were there for weeks
Maybe we never left,
never stopped reciting
the poetry in the cracks of one another's skin
I just know
that the frenetic kisses
tore every secret from the scabs in my lips
My fingertips were aching
I dug down deep in your blood
to soothe them
When we came you made the world bloom in me
I was divine,
reverenced
as much a piece of you as the songs
I hear in every inch of you
You lit me on fire
When I came from the ashes
I was returned as
your Persephone.lover
painting daisies on your cheekbones
inciting you
into the fury of dark carriages
My eyelashes crashed against yours
[an unfolding of us]
and in my mind I still saw you
like no one else ever will
Author notes
You will never stall anybody’s blood flow as much as mine. I love you, Werewolf. Come back soon.
Please tell me what you think

the poetry in the cracks of one another's skin" pretty!!! wow, your poems are really heartfelt, especially the ones that you have wrote lately. you must be going through a very difficult time, because you love this person so much, i can feel it.

The ending is so sweet. Sometimes when we truly believe it's a forever thing we think not another person could possibly see them the way that you do. No one could ever ... hm. You always seem so heartfelt in your pieces to "Werewolf". Keep it up
