So I rebel against the hand of time
and throw down the gauntlet
to spite whatever Fates
may have tendered such an end;
I do not believe words spoken in tongues of doubt.
There is but an unfinished journey behind me:
For we create 'now' and breathe life into tomorrow.
I came into this world as a faithless creature
born of a line of heroes.
A thought wished for by saints, nurtured by angels,
defended by fierce lionesses,
and blessed in light and Spirit.
Faith took root and grew to
sustain me; to create my today:
Molded and shaped for some purpose yet to be fully realized.
And so I am in the balance.
Life might be seen as a crucible of faults and errors;
or a force driving onward in some relative direction
but by prayer, under the watchful eyes of Forgiveness-
We are all given unlived life, light to see,
and power of choice; all subject to interference and injustice.
The burden falls equally on us all
to make a just world where the gifts of life may prosper.
And so we are all in the balance.

this was a powerfully writtem poem, but it wasn't really about the ocean. Unless you were using the ocean as a medafore for your life, wich this kinda sorta sounded like... thanks for entering my contest!

a really lovely write, i think i was looking for a bit more of a contemporary voice, more natural and less "poetic" but that does not take anything away from the quality of the poem itself, very nice entry...

We come into this life fatithless and some leave it the same way. Life is choices we make, we can only blame ourselves for the things that go wrong in it. Nice job ~Sie

We need to find the right path to justice in this world, each has a role, whether we fulfil it is up to us, no one can do it for us. If we chose the right road we can be the example for the next generation. Nice message in this one dear poet

Justice & Balancement
You have cover each aspect of life, and the paths we choose to take; all play a part in the scales of life.
This read will make any person unaware check themselves. If we all reach for the fulfillment of life, help to make the roads smoother. Remembering the children; for they are tommorow. We will expire in celestial grace.
Excellent write..........loved this read..novy

An intelligent penning, my Friend. Balance is not an easy thing to get or maintain; it's good that you're aware of its significance in a worthwhile life. Good luck in Al's contest, Poet.
