I want to fill the pages of my life with happy times
I want my life to be about more than pennies and dimes
I want to read about a life that's been well lived; fulfilled
If that could be the case I would be most glad and thrilled
The pages of a book are white and blank only until
The words are placed line upon line, this seals the deal
If I can read where I once fought and overcame
It would help to make me glad to have endured the pain
If to my enemies I showed love instead of hate
Then on those pages I did good; at the premium rate
I'd like some pages dedicated to the cause of all
Like praying for others that they might stand instead of fall
I'd love to point out the pages where I fed the poor
Put clothes on some, visited the sick, and maybe more
Highlighted are the pages where I praised and worshiped God
And how I raised my children and did not spare the rod
~~~~So unique are the pages of one's life~~~~
They show your heart and all your sacrifice
I'd like to read in it that I have done my best
Then out of my hands and into God's I give the rest
Sensational
So nice to hear. I don't know about the example part, but I try.
If only everyone could see how big my smile is right now. I'm sure it'd get everyone at least grinning.
Incredibly touching, to say the very least. I wish I could say I've done all those things in the story of my life, and mayhaps I still can. There's still plenty of pages left for me to fill out with all the good things I'm bound to do. And I hope you and the rest of the world do too. Definately one of my favorites at the moment.
Sweetest of dreams! ~D
