In Just One Look

my heart beats loud in my chest
I can only stare into you're eyes
waiting for your move
safely remaining silent
unable to be courageuos
unable to ease the pain
of not knowing
then we catch each others eyes
A soft gaze of focus
with heavy eyelashes slowly blinking
a smile slowly creeping across your face
your lips slowly revealing your teeth
reassurence of an unspoken love
lifting my heart in one look
forcing a tender smile from me
a sigh ripples through the body
relieving the tight grip of fear
for without a word I melt
tears sliding down my skin
making a clever grin you stand
as you walk toward me
I cannot obey my thoughts and run
nor obey my heart and smile
I remain frozen in time
the pulse the only thing I hear
that grows louder
no more than a foot appart
you raise your hand
and stroke away my tears with your thumbs
I shiver inside as you brush my hair behind my ear
holding one side of my face
you lean in and carefully push your lips to mine
My heart slows and my face follows yours
as you pull us apart
to give another blissfull smile
when we create a warm embrace
my head craddled in your neck
I thank God for this moment
and pray for it to stay forever
