A Birthday Poem For Shahrzad

special was the day
that you came into my life
sweet jewel of the eastern skies
you bring me joy
with your smile and warmth
each day a new surprise

now on this day
celebrating your birth
as the sun shines overhead
the flowers all rise in silent salute
with smiles,
no tears to shed

when you blow out the candles
on your birthday cake
and the flames refuse to die
they’re burning just for you
just think of all who love you
we wont ever say goodbye

so happy birthday, dear Shahrzad
may you have many more
and may they all be filled with light
pursue your dreams
treasure each and every day
and may your life be bright

Shahrzad has been my AP daughter for awhile now. She brings me much pleasure with her expressions of love. She writes lovely poetry and is an all around beautiful person.

    Ah I missed her birthday when I wasn’t around AP. Damn me! What a sis I am who forget the birthday of her loving sis.
    I’m glad you made her birthday a happy one with this sweet poem. I have to explain for her.. hopefully she forgive me for being such bad sis.
    By the way, I thank you kindly for sharing this with us. I really love you. I love Shahrzad, too

    How sweet, it's cool how we sort of foster relationships on this site. Even I (the mos miserable curmudgeon ever born) have two AP daughters...though I think they've both disowned me...I know they did call the AP police on me...something about child abuse, lol.

    I'm done acting out...I need an AP parent to keep me in line, lol.

    I'm going to go see if Shahrzad has commented...if she hasn't smack her one! Kids need structure (that is what got the AP Police called on me.)

      I guess I could handle one more kid if you want me to be your mommy... or even grandmommy... but I refuse to be greatgrandmommy... To be your greatgrandmommy I'd have had to start having kids when I was about 5 years old... and besides, if you don't have a mommy, how ya gonna have a greatgrandmommy... even the grandmommy part would be hard to work around...

      Thanks for your cool comment on this birthday poem for Shahrzad. She read it already. Her birthday is tomorrow but I wanted to make sure I got it up in time.. and anyway, it's already tomorrow in her part of the world
