Sweet temptation, forbidden dreams
Swirling about my empty head
Tantalizing, taunting
Coagulating impulses
Of feelings untold
Thrown into action.
Your hand brushes mine
Reassuring contact
Igniting a need
To lose myself
Within your grasp
Tempestuous heaven
A fusillade kiss
Of gratifying surrender.
Yes, it would be, a fusillade kiss
Destroying the ultimate bond--
A sacrilege of unity
Between husband and wife.
Cool wind impacts my face
Reality sinking in
I turn to go
You reach my hand
I shake off the threat
Your intoxicating touch.
Fleeing like a child,
Forbidden dreams
Roll down my cheeks
Like rain.
Author notes
contest note: it didn't really work out, but i felt the poem seemed to fit.
For some reason, I've been feeling like "blank verse" lately.
