The Secret in the Lake

Missing image

The Secret in the Lake
.
we all have deep dark secrets here
some are kept in the lake so near
not much more that we can fear
your life can be at stake my dear
.
weighted down a burdened heart
he dropped me there from the start
descending with a love that’s lost
when a lucid stare will have a cost
.
cold fetid water surrounded me
it flowed about like wind in a tree
it has been so long I could not cry
I could not shout nor could I lie
.
downward drifting like a leaf
liquid terror beyond belief
my gown is clinging close to me
gives bliss to the wearer of the key
.
passion of lungs are burning
try to scream ever yearning
one last breath before the kiss
and then a dream of loving bliss
.
the lake has secrets and the key
passion gripping it now has me
I can see the bed of the lake
has set me free for love to take

.

This is beautiful, I even more enjoyed reading just the dark areas, which seem to schetch and draw out a moving storyline. Very creative, I like the Amera style! Well done and a pleasure to read.

i like lakes. I have a lake, but it's not mine. I don't have a lake then =[ But I do have a lake. I found it, so it's mine.
I think this is a beautiful poem with some wonderful imagery. Good luck

not much more that we can fear
your life can be at stake my dear

I just realized that not only will I go mad just judging all the poems in the contest - it is hard enough to pick JUST ONE of the 7 in here. This is so brilliant - I may just keep this all in the finalists and decide on later or else I will have a headache soon enough!

Both poems, together as one are so great - the lines above are my fabourite. It has this sweet ongue [my dear] and poison in those wors - something I enjoy doing myself!

    Never ♥

I read it the first time, wrote an entire comment- then realized that there were authors notes- reread the poem, and now, now I must say that you have really suprised me.

The poem as a whole, was very good- sad though, it was a haunting read- after I read the inner poem, as though the speaker wanted to say something, but was forbidden to.

    Awesome.

Made me hold my breath, so I guess I'm breathless! You seem to slip into a leather teddy and black cape of the dark genre with ease and look pretty good doing it! I especially like the black lipstick and chained collar. You could make a living with writes like these. Three sacrificial bunnies!
