Memories bittersweet
Coursing through my mind.
The joys of yesterdays,
Remembered,
Revealing voids in the moments of today.
Pleasant memories,
A gentle reminder
They are no longer reality.
Days of bliss now past,
Creating a battle inside,
Evoking emotions
Conflicting within.
A heart uncertain
Whether to laugh
Or to let the tears fall free.
Reminiscing
Longing for those moments
Knowing they can never return
Memories
Slashing like a knife
Yearning to erase the grief
Afraid to lose the joy
Thoughts of the past,
Oh how I wish to forget.
The sorrow they bring is too much.
And yet I dare not release
The memories
All I have left

thinking about the moments spent with my girls, i felt both the joy from the moments and the sadness that comes from knowing those moments are over.

i felt the grief and the pain. but in ways there are rays of sunshine that shine through. the phrase "live in the moment" comes to mind with this poem. Very good read, keep it flowing.

yeah i hate when that happens, when you remeber something and how fun it was and you cann't relive it
