As I left O'Mara's pub that night
the road it seemed so long
I decided to take a shortcut
across the fields of fairy thorn.
I heard a noise in the bush
a sound of tick and tack
and low and behold
when I took a look
upon a toadstool he was sat.
A little mischievous Leprehaun
with his coat of emerald green
and upon his head a scarlet cap
the likes of you've never seen.
Said I to him...
"I hear you're rich
with crocs full of gold"
Said he to me...
"Well t'is be true
but to get it you'd
have to be bold."
I knew to keep
me eye on him
or he would disapear
so I fooled him into
closing his eyes
then I grabbed him by the ear.
"Alright! bejesus be easy
you've got me by the scruff
i'll grant ye one wish only
'cause you've caught me flemming bluff.
Said I to him...
"I need two wishes
one for me wife as well
he agreed on the condiction
that I would then bid him farewell.
so I wished to be far away
from that woman
and her nagging ways
and low and behold
it was granted
I was in Egypt wearing a fez.
So the Leprehaun went to the wife
Said he...
"Its one wish ye have from me"
she thought long and hard
then said...
"It's with my husband forever with me"
