The blue eyed fly glided over the cake
Trying to find the best place to land
The jumble of cables confused it
Causing it to miss a plum crumb beside the plate
The necklace glittered in the sunlight
Blinding the blue eyed fly briefly
Just long enough for it to plow eyes first
Into a rotting piece of fruit, an apple actually
Stunned, but not hurt
The blue eyed fly gorged on the apple
Then fell asleep on the magazine cover
Disappearing into the blue of the rainbow
The battery falling to the floor woke him
The vibrations carrying across the floor
Boucing the blue eyed fly into the air
Landing in the mangle of cables beside the radio
He landed wings down, feet up
Dazed, he lay there, thinking,
I should write a poem about this
If only I could write....then I would.
Author notes
Just having a bit of fun, nothing serious - not even sure where this one came from. The phrase blue eyed fly just popped into my head and I took it from there.
