It was just an instant…
a heartbeat or two
a quick blink or two
a slight flush of a cheek.
Then her lips came slowly together
and she dropped her eyes
and lowered her chin
and the instant…was gone…
…never to repeat…

ahh yes, the electricity, i can feel it in my waters......hehe..

I've had a few moments that have lingered in expectation that have blown away with the breese of disappointment. *sigh* And yes, I've never gone back to that same moment again...not with the same person anyways.

There are so many lost moments. They make for some beautiful poetry though.
How are you, my friend? I think I am finally coming out of the depression I was in. It's been a long road. Hope you are well.

This write...made me shiver. And remember. Those brief moments in time when that electricity is there. I have learned to jump at every chance. This is one I want in my book of poems by Dad or pappa dadda. which ever applies to share with my kids

Wonderful
How many instances do we miss because we hesitate just a second too long? This is priceless and timeless, my friend. Made me smile, thanks for sharing this.

imagine, if you had done very should you have left in the book... would you still dream as much as you do?
should have, I suppose, but then you wouldn't wish as you do now, and wish seems to be the strongest hope that carries..

Amicus
How about taking out all the twos. I think the poem would flow better. Also in my opinion you should drop the last line. Just some suggestions. You know I've been spending time editing old poems this afternoon. Your keen eye and perspective has always been very helpful to me.
Yes, there is always someone we should have kissed in life. Melancholy is an intrinsic part of being.

Amicus - OH! Such tender poignancy in so few words. Coulda, woulda, shoulda - we've all lived, written with such clear emotion. Thank you for the smile today! Robi
