Irish Coffee Magic

Missing image
Come have a cup of Irish coffee,
well top of the morning to you.
Made with magical coffee beans,
the leprechauns mix up this brew.

The wee ones are hidden away,
they live in the forest so deep.
All day long just brewing coffee,
getting stronger letting it steep.

To find them is not very easy,
you must follow any rainbow.
There for only a brief moment,
then into the Forrest you go.

Follow the meandering stream,
till it comes to a sharp bend.
A mile left then a mile right,
brings you to the rainbow end.

There you shall find a treasure,
no, there is no gold in the pot.
It is filled with a magical brew,
Irish coffee that is piping hot.

The wee ones welcome you,
Please come and sit awhile.
relax with a cup of coffee,
you journeyed many a mile.

They say drink up and enjoy,
the coffee is a magical brew.
For it only takes one little sip,
you'll become a leprechaun too.

So better beware of Irish coffee,
unless you don't mind being small.
If you believe, I've another tale,
Irish whiskey makes you grow tall.

This is a great piece. The whimsical story, the flowing rhythm and unforced rhyming. Throw in a touch of humor, a large dose of creativity, a fun picture on top and coffee and I'm surprised it only netted a bronze. I imagine it will garner more trophies going forward. Great write!!

    excellent

Wonderful write sandy, this is such a cute write, how disapointed some will be when they hit that rainbows end and find a pot of hot coffee instead of the gold. I would enjoy the company but think I would have to pass on the coffee. , and the whiskey too!! Have to be careful of those Irish. . Very lighthearted enjoyable read.

As for Irish coffee, it is WAYYYY to strong for my tastes. But I loved the idea of a pot full of coffee at the end of the rainbow! This poem was so well written! Thanks for entering my contest!

Awww. I love this. A delictable piece that put a smile on my face. I loved the images and how you alluded to Irish folk and customs (the lucky pot, following the rainbow...etc). And I especially love the last stanza. Nice work! ^_^
