I’ll dream of Venice, climb each marble stair,
Where tranquil waters drift and flow between
The carnival of sunlight in the air,
Reflected in a net of pink and green.
Arched doorways, cobbled streets worn and antique,
The balconies are filled with vibrant gems,
The golden light is full of strange mystique,
Quaint gondolas with ornamental stems.
Beneath Rialto bridge the boats pass by,
Rococo charm, the freedom of the light,
A tapestry of colour holds the eye,
The street lamps on the pier that soften night.
Venetian watercolours, sunken walls,
Canals that follow where the sunshine falls.

another delightful sonnet, great imagery that awakens long forgotten souvenirs of my repeated visits to venice ... luckily, I was living close by (well, relatively in comparison with non-europeans), for a great part of my life ...
a wonderful topic for a sonnet indeed ...
the best of luck,

maa

I loved it. It really does remind my of Venice and it makes my fell like I'm really there.

this doesn't seem to have quite the same flow as your other poems, but it's still near perfect and filled with that beautiful imagery that you always seem to draw. lovely poem!

SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL!
With you beautifully painted words I find myself there seeing each and every one of these sights.

This will probably be as close to Venice as I'll get... sigh... so thank you, now all I need to do is memorize it, so I can close my eyes picturing myself there....just lovely. Thank you for sharing.
