After so long stuck in a shell
I break free with new senses
I feel more than I have ever felt before
Even the earth seems different from what it once was...
Going from being "Mind-blind" to sensing new things
my empathic abilities come out from the shell
suddenly I feel people's emotions
they are not blocking by my own turmoil
All because I believe...
I believe in people
in higher beings
I believe in things not seen
and my own abilities
Doubt no longer clouds my reason
and I am able to "see" things that were ignored for so long
Of all things, I am able to look at things without my own emotions
Like a true empath, I feel more than my own petty feelings...
For once, I am more than the sum of my parts,
For once, I feel free
Like the caterpillar that comes out of his shell,
I feel ready to fly like the butterfly
beautiful and free
I am not bogged down by petty things
Ego and pride no longer hold sway
My new rebirth enabled me to appreciate the finer things
And I cherish the earth and its people in a whole new way
I smile and sigh
what a way to start a whole new day...

This was a really interesting poem that leaves the read to think. I like that in a poem. My favorite part was:
For once, I am more than the sum of my parts,
For once, I feel free
Like the caterpillar that comes out of his shell,
I feel ready to fly like the butterfly
beautiful and free
That part had such great imagery and you could almost feel the poem take shape around you. Great job and best of luck in your writing future. -
no not confusing at all for to be reborn is truely a learning experience, we have to learn our sperm, egg, feotus, birth, eating, sleeping smiling etc. reality does not just happen separate from the observer, and scientists are slowly if not chaotically towards this wisdom (thank goodness for quantum uncertainty
) and so learning the empathic skill is tenfold, especially at the higher end of vibration, such as what you speak, and little need for the "" in my opinion, alike there is little wall between souls and energy can flow (almost) directly to where it is needed, for the heart rhythm is tuned and so when it happens to anyone its like a new world is found, i first came across it in martial art, and now practice A group energy sharing pattern through dance and yet it can also be daunting, because with power, comes those who need it and those who crave it, and so blessed be your freedom to place it well, may you heal the earth.....anyhays thanks for sharing the magic with incense and blessed water- jas

Your poem is full of total greatness!! It's a real treat and a breather to read. Nice rhymes! Nice tempo as well shifts of growth. I agree an honest look to ourselves helps to develop/acknowledge own abilities and get out of the shell trap. Anticipation of succeeding is a source of projection to be fitting in making a difference anew. My tender half is exceptionally gifted in guidance of this kind. Love these lines -

Your poem says it all
Empathy is a freedom flight. Once we are able to feel with others all our ouw senses are enhanced "My new rebirth enables me to appreciate the finer things". You have captured the essence of empathy here and I think that all readers of your poem will " . . smile and sigh" for indeed it is a wonderful " . . .way to start a whole new day . . ."

I always love to see a mention of empathy in any kind of writing. It adds that sort of metaphysical feeling that appeals to me a great deal, mostly because of my personal beliefs. As such, I'm a little biased here, lol, and I like it because (thought not ONLY because) of that. I think you captured the essence of empathy very well

well done. hope the positive path continues. empathy is difficult to deal with, but when you're able to learn to control it and not let it control you... that's the challenge. one i myself am still working on.

I liked the way you say ego and pride hold no sway. It is a wonderful poem and i think the very fact that you have a need to express what you are feeling with words speaks to how you have grown in this last year. It was a joy to read sweet heart. keep it up and keep looking at the world in this new way
