He left her roses again

He left her roses again
They are a sign he is sorry
She remembers the night before
His gentle caress
and his enthusiastic tongue
As the speakers played her favourite song
His crown turned to horns
Her purple dress fell away
As his touch gained more purpose

He left before she woke
She remembers the way they used to be
as she stares at the years old photograph
He used to care
They used to speak for hours about nothing
Now everything is physical
Now he doesn't care

The beat of her heart increases as she thinks of him
His apathy seems more like hypocracy now
His love, more like lust
And as she walks out the door
bags in tow
she remembers what they used to be

I used the first word bank, this isn't what I first thought of writing, but this is how it ended up, hope you like it

Ya know, most of the time the poems that just came from nowhere are the ones that I like best. I loved the last line of this piece. It has a feeling of finality to it, and it really wraps up the poem well. Quite frankly, I entirely enjoyed this piece! Thanks for entering!
