I laid in my dark corner
Bruised and broken upon the floor
Begging for no more hands to raise
No more poison words to sear my flesh
Bleeding, crying into nothingness
Until a cool breeze blew in
Caressing aching skin, soothing savage wounds
And the breeze brought in a loving face
A wonderful accent that nearly healed my soul
As it gently touched my heart
He picked up each piece of me
Laid them carefully into place,
Mended me
Tended me
Kissed the bruises on my face
Saved me from the life I lived
Took me far from hateful home
Carried in his embracing arms
Brought me to a grander place
Where I'd be safe and warm
