Red, Black, Wilted Roses

I'm holding you close now,
kissing your battles gone,
fighting the world for you.
What could you have done wrong?

I don't wear a cape, honey,
but I'll still be your heroine.
Lay next to me in the bright roses,
and I'll put the pain to an end.

-------

I'm lying awake now,
as the roses fade to black.
This bed feels so cold.
Please, baby, come back.

I'll hug my knees to my chest,
trying to ignore your deceit.
I've gone from sanctuary to victim
in a fading heartbeat.

------

I'm sharpening the blade now,
a twisted smile playing on my lips,
wanting to make you hurt as I did,
determined to steal your last kiss.

I've become the villain, haven't I?
I've no intention to fight it.
The roses have wilted now...
and I happen to like it.

Author notes

A little symbolism thrown into a mix of three different views: the hero, the victim, and the villain.

Please leave me a note! =)
