Half and Half

Time's got tough and I know you knew
Heaven was waiting but you left too soon
We cared and loved what you did for our lives
But even the most perfect of angels have their flaws

Was it really so hard to cope with it all?
Do you believe that in this life you could only fall?
It's not always night though it may seem that way
I know the feeling, of hopelessness and despair

But all you can ever do is hold onto the hope of tomorrow
Wait for the sky to clear and the sun to shine
You've got to believe that it will always turn out right
You had so many who loved you, who needed you around

I know that it's an easy escape but it's never the way
The best way to go is the one that leads to another day
Half of this life is struggle and the other bliss
But sometimes we only see the former

I'm sorry that it got so bad
That life got so hard
But there was always hope for something better
If only you'd known that at the time

But we can't dwell on the fact that you're gone
But rather the time that you spent here
The memories that they have, they'll hold so dear
They'll see you again one day and all will be won
