The Procrastinator

Has the art crafted to the "nth" degree
Has so perfected it, it is now it's own entity

One, two, three...the gun is shot
But movement of any kind, there is not

The diver is positioned
No more space on the board

There he remains, though, suspended
All else is ignored

He doesn't give a hoot
He can't unboot

So programed, so refined
Nothing gets done, 100% of the time

"On the ready" is forever his chant
Never going beyond the ready is his personal slant

Locked in like concrete is to stone
Oh, he has the desire, never get this wrong

Desire enough to fill the river bed
It's just that none of this desire, appears to flow into his head

Getting anything done, won't happen soon
The Procrastinator plays to a whole other tune

Talk about your caveman mentality
The "Procrastinator" keeps it up for an eternity

Go ahead Procrastinator, and do what you do best
Let everybody else achieve, while you lay back and rest!

    fantastic rhyme....

You never cease to amaze me with your masterful rhyme and rhythm. I can relate to the "procrastinator" on so many levels. I think I should get back to doing my Accounting homework. First, I think I will sit back, and take a break.

      TY

I have to work on that area, where and how to make the rhyme scheme fit better. Thank you for the tip.

After reading a poem that was totally irrelevant to the contest this makes me even happier than normal. You in fact did make me laugh. Its great when you can take something from real life and use in humorously. Its a talent that not many posess.
    Great job!

Lots of procrastination going around these days I think. I found this humorous, I don't know if there is a person alive that can not think of at least one instance when they have put something off long enough for things to go wrong in a domino effect I know I have on a few occasions, but since I am still alive I suppose, I needed the rest more than I needed to get it done. Great flow and nice rhymes.

s and best wishes always... ~Genie~

Note: Due to high volume of entries, I'll be using a scoring system to judge after the contest closes.
