A little tear runs down her cheeks
They pull out of the drive in tears
Every turn was stomach wrenching
Her sobs had no effect on the decision
Her mother was to be taken away to rehab and her father to jail
She would have to go live in a home of a stranger
All because of their stupid addictions and habits
She would be all alone in the gray corner of life
Punishment, rejection and pain came her way
The "foster parent" would be her only "friend"
All her dreams were crushed
All her plans were ruined
Now all she could do is sob in that gray, drab corner
Everyday she dreams of life with her family that out-casted her in their habits
She was now an outcast of society
Nothing would be the same
As they pulled into the drive way the little girl was still sobbing
She did not really understand what was happening
All she knew was that she was taken from her house, family, and her life
The stranger picked her up and comforted her
He was not a woman but a gentle man
A kind, loving man
He said "my child why are you crying?"
She quietly said "my mother and father have been taken away and I'm scared I will never see them again."
"Ah I see." he said already knowing what happened
"Who are you and where is my mommy and daddy?" she asked
"They have been taken away to go get help" He said as kind and as sincere as he could.
"I wanna go home," she cried
"I know, but sadly you can not. You are going to come and live with me."
"Why?" she asked as a little kid would
"Sssshhhh" he told her "go to sleep. I'll explain in the morning, but now it is time for bed."
And at the monmet he he began to sing a sweet lullaby about the day she might see her parents again
Soon the little girl was fast asleep in his arms and he carried her in the house and put her to bed.
Though she never did see her parents again she will always have the kind, gentle, loving man that is now her new dad.
Author notes
OK so yeah I didn't actually go through this, but i can only imagine how heart wrenching it is for a child to loose their parents.

The Pain of the Past
I really don't know what i could say about this sad story that had a twist in emotions....
Sometimes the sad stuff that one might write about could be true and it hurts to see one go through such pain as to lose a father or a mother to such habits or addictions.....
But it also hurts to think that a father or a mother could put their kids through such pain and sorrow...
The heartbreak of the little girl which turned into such a friendship the plans that was their she had to change but she now had a friend who could be there......
Great write....

Thanks for your comments about my poem I am glad you noticed the twist in it thanks. This poem is really good it reads like a story and I like that element to it. It is very sad I think it is so sad at the end that she never saw her parents again this really brought a tear to my eye. It is very emotional and well written.

Lovely, yet sad. You wrote this story well, and in a convincing way.
