the unknow

I dont know where you are
But do i really want to know
My heart is aching, my eyes are damp
I watch the news
1 soldier
2 soldier
3 soldier
Dead
My heart races
I forget how to breathe
I wait for more to be said
I watch the news
4 soldier
5 soldier
6 soldier
Dead
When will this pain end
When can i have you in my arms again
When will i know
I watch the news
7 soldier
8 soldier
9 soldier
Dead
I am sick of hearing
But not knowing
I want you safe at home
I watch the news
10 soldier
Dead
I now know
You're coming home

Author notes

ok ok ok i know i know it is sorta morbid but when i was with my ex and didnt get to talk to him everyday. it was hard not to sit and watch the news like it was some kinda new religion. this is just one of the millions of thoughts i had.

tell me what you think?

    Hello!!!

Yoiur poem was very heartfelt and speaks how many feel when a loved one is over there in harms way. I had someone in Iraq and I worried each day till he was home safe and sound with his family. My heart goes out to all those waiting at home. Thank you for sharing. A very emotional poem. Take care, Sandy
