Fated To Flower no More.

I am a fading flower
planted here by God to add
beauty and joy to those around me.
A poetic creation swaying
in the verbal breezes of my
calm and stormy works.
But alas my center is now
much closer to the earth
from which I sprang long ago.
I have cast forth my seeds
and bore fruit
a tiny bud, my son
stands tall beside me,
tulips to press my cheek
as I grow old.
My white carnation brain
full of wrinkles and creases
is growing brown at the edges
like an ancient manuscript
it lies almost blank
of the many thoughts penned there.
Soon the bloom of youth
becomes the dried flower,
holding the residue of what was
pressed between the pages of time
I will return to the earth
on some distant day
leaving all that I stemmed from
behind me forever.
White petals that rain
like the pages of my poetry
as one leafs through the
pollinated pondering
granted to me back
in my finest form.

Absolutely stunning metaphores in this!!! I love how you use nature to describe this state of the soul, the spiritual being within. Very spiritual; really leaves the reader pondering and pensive. The words are so delicate and beautiful, the flow is superb, and the imagery is so incredible. I really love the calm, flowing tone to this piece. It harmonizes and almost sings.

A very thoughtful poem you have here - I liked it and indeed I enjoyed reading it - I felt perhaps it would have been easier to read with extra punctuation and paragraphs/stanzas!
