My coffee cup is empty
just like my life used to be
I look at it and think
What if this was the cup of life?
would I be happy or sad to see it empty
Coffee is my life-blood
it helps me face the day
gives me a way to meet new people
and break the ice with a new-found friend
it gives me a buzz
and helps my nerves
Quick where's the loo
I think I had one too many
Time to head on home
On a caffeine high
I say hi to all I meet
Coffee Rules!

Like this metaphorical poem you have penned here - that cup gets empty mighty fast some times, other times one can chat for hours over a cup, gets cold before one knows it. I enjoyed reading this and alaso entered a poem in this contest. Nice to read other entries too.

Thanks for filling up a cup here at the cafeXperiment. What a pleasant surprise the photographer will have to find this nice upbeat message

I enjoyed this. I don't like coffee but I love the aroma! Great write!

Good write. I always wish I could understand why so many people like coffee, but I suppose it's an acquired taste. I like the background you chose for this piece. I liked the part of the buzz the best. For me coffee doesn't give me a buzz, but sugar seems to. Anyway, great write. Good luck in the contest.
