Sea Breezes and Sun Tans

Refreshing sea breezes
and golden brown sun tans,
on warm sandy beaches
these are our summer plans.

With pina coladas
and a good book to read,
fresh fruit and tossed salad
will be all that we need.

A dip in the ocean
to cool our bodies down
and later tonight
we'll head into the town.

Some dinner and dancing
under the soft moonlight,
then back at the cottage
a soft kiss, say goodnight.

So sweet! This sounds really fun. I need to work on my tan It's on my to-do list. You know, I really liked reading this because it has an everflowing rhyme to it, which always makes it easier to read...and the fact that it has such a pretty tune to it (if you could only imagine it) Well, maybe it's just me, but anywho.... This sounds like a vacation that I want to go on, sounds like loads of fun! You did wonderful and hope ya do good!

Lady P, Everyone needs a vacation. Now being medically retired you should be able to plan it easier. You don't need to request time off at work. Thank you for the lovely words and I'm very happy that you enjoyed this piece so much. Soak up some sun and enjoy the salt air. Love and God bless you my friend, Joyce

Amera, Thank you for the applauses and your lovely words. Are you on a year round spring break being in Fort Lauderdale? LOL We had actually thought of retiring in the Keys at one point and our minds got changed very quickly when we returned 10 years later. We still have a ways to go before that, though we are thinking more like North Carolina now. Florida is a hop, skip and a jump from there. Sounds like you love it there. I'm very happy you enjoyed the poem too. Love you my friend, Joyce

Pam, Don't we wish these vacations could last the entire year round. LOL I don't drink pina coladas, it just sounded good for the tropical thing. This was a light hearted piece taken from my group and that is what I got from the title given. I want to go on vacation right now. I'm very happy that you enjoyed it so much. Love you my friend, Joyce

P.S. I don't know whose ears were ringing, I had just clicked on your home page when your comment came up. I'm headed back there now.

Liz, I could take a vacation like this all summer long and be quite content as long as I was with the love of my life. This title made for a very light hearted piece and yet it was fulfilling to write it. I'm very happy that you enjoyed it so much and you may certainly come along. You get your own cottage though, with Jason of course. LOL Thank you for the best wishes also. Love and God bless you my friend, Joyce
