Her smile, bright enough to replace the sun
Her laughter is contagious, brings happines to everyone
Something about her eyes, makes you feel welcome
But without her mother's love, her eyes become hollow
The warmth is abadoned, her eyes become dry
Her shield has been taken, I hear her cry
She wants a love her mother is not prepared to give
She hides behind a smile & in her eyes pain lives
A mother defuses a love to a child with so much fire
Pain is excepted, in her eyes love she desires
Long talks, ladies nights, have that mother-daugther bond
Men steal her mother's love, she's invisible in her home
I see the fear in her eyes, she knows I see what's beneath
Her eyes lock with mine & she cries, "why can't she love me?!"
I become angered, no child should be without love
So I give mine, but she will forever yearn for her mother's.
Love is Priceless

well done,
A very emotionally charged piece and i do agree with you know one should have to go through this ever.
The flow is very nice.
I liked the last two stanzas the best
my favorite line

good job and good luck -
Oh this is sad. My friend is going through something similar, and I want to be there for her, but I can't replace her mom, you know? I like the recurring theme of the eyes. Good luck in the contest.

SO HEART-WRENCHING!
I have seen this first hand also and I also reached out to that person. How could one not feel the pain and reach out to them.
