Granny square grandmother,
slipping stitches across knuckles
that recapture hazelnut habits,
crocheting curled-chocolate memories
through afternoon’s sweet caress
on lips to savor day and light:
to knot another coffee-colored strand
so they can’t undo themselves.

Oh, I'm delighted that someone has chosen my photo again and have reopened this to allow multiple entries; I realized it would be nice if these cups were bottomless.
LOL at the granny reference because I think, with my grey hair and crochet hook in hand, many people do mistake me for my daughter's "granny". I'm intrigued by the last two lines here -- trying to figure out what they relate to. Thank you for coming to the cafeXperiment and if you get a chance, have another cup

this is sweet

'granny square grandmother' is precious... makes me wish i had someone like that in my life
i don't knit, sew, crochet, etc. i would tie my hands together or to nearby furniture legs... i'm hopeless and impatient... yet the thought of these activitites are comforting... soothing... just like your poem
