I never wanted this
Your tears are on my hand
I made you cry again
I stole far more than just one kiss
And ruined the future you had planned
I never wanted this
I couldn't live with your tense bliss
Because of this, I forced your love and
I made you cry again
Drowning in a dark abyss
Unsure of where I stand
I never wanted this
So angry without you in all this
Misbegotten, lonely land
I made you cry again
I thought that I could give you one last kiss
This was not what I had planned
I never wanted this
I made you cry again

hmm... this is sad. sounds like the speaker is guilt-ridden with whatever he/she has done to hurt the intended reader. i couldn't put my finger on what was different about this villanelle but then i realized that it was because the refrain doesn't rhyme. it's kind of funny that you name it "villain villanelle" because it could also be because it is not your standard villanelle... although, i'm pretty sure the title is because the speaker in this piece feels like a villain. well thank you for your entry and good luck my contest :D
