Perils and Wisdom

Some can see what others cannot
Applied insight can untie the knot

A lot of us move about in a fog
Appearing like a mind that’s clogged

Bogged and busied with urgent stuff
Human interactions can be very rough

Knee-jerk reactions are often common
Applying tact could answer the summons

It’s a mistake to think there is no call
Read the writing on the wall

One false move is all it takes
Hearts so hardened they chip and flake

Lights are flashing—danger everywhere
Slow the pace—stop to stare

Steering clear of disaster is a mind well fed
Take wisdom steps straight ahead!

I often ponder these same thoughts myself. Why some people can't see beyond themselves, their needs and are so caught up in their own busy lifestyles that they live in that fog, like city smog lost from truths and insight. Knee-jerk reactions (or cumulative reactions) ingrained from childhood experiences sometimes never grow up and mature into subjective thought. Reaction habbits never broken.

Hardened hearts live in waiting for the next attack. Hypersensitised to only see impending danger, unable to love freely, unconditionally.

Lots of thoughts on the hardening of the soul and closing of the mind. Isn't it refreshing when you meet someone who has the insight and wisdom to abandon all this and be the person they were meant to be!

    Great write...alby
