graffiti owns cement
traffic noises buzz into the core of it
humanity seeping in with no regrets
fear laughter
companionship loathing
... internal announcements
sans apology
stories absorbed into wood, steel and stone
surface on the concrete hallways of our cities
day-glo functionalisms prudently respected
inner city laws waging war against point-proper diction
spoken with forked tongues
read the writing on the wall
Edward Bulwer-Lytton said "the pen is mightier than the sword"
Jonathan Rosenbaum's essay urges filmmakers to show America as she really is
and said “take no prisoners...”
the written word is power
in any form
take no prisoners
never surrender

Compelling and profound as I agree with the written word does hold strength but only if the one writing has the courage to stand behind all that has been written! I enjoyed your take on this and found this to be most compelling.
Good luck in the contest.
