Diamond Raindrops

Why must my life leave me quaking each day
Like the ripples in a lonely, broken stream
Why do they always cast me away
The tension is too much, so it seems
Watching the diamond raindrops fall
Riding on the wings of the sighing wind
Wondering if they’re really diamonds at all
Or just faking it all again
Why is my life so beyond my control
It’s winding coils so beyond my reach
Why can’t I prevent this world from hating
Why can’t I stop my heart from breaking
Watching the diamond raindrops fall
Watching them break my silent pain
The blatant sadness floods my heart
I’ll never see you again

The rhyming in the first half suited the piece very well - I thought it strange then that you broke with it!
Such a sad piece so full of emotion - you can really feel it in the words.
An excellent write - best of luck!
