Beloved

The blood on her face was
enough to make her realize.
The scars on her body were
enough to make her see.
He didn't love her, he never
had.
It was all a game, she knew
but she would never admit.
She would lay in hospital bed
after hospital bed and still
thinking, still believing he
was hitting her because he cared.
When she could've died he laughed
at her. When he struck her killing
their unborn child, he blamed her.
She finally saw, she knew he
knew nothing but hate. She was
finally able to leave without feeling
tied down. She did not acknowledge
his fake tears, she only remembered
her real ones. She stepped into
the sun took a big breath and jumped
off the balcony. In her mind she
was not worthy of being a wife, mother,
or even a very loved daughter.

Please tell me what you think

Good job, it's a "make you think" poem, just watch the flow and everything would be great!

This had the feel of someone flying into something that they were totally free to fly into, even if it was as a result of something forsaken and painful.

You brought out a strong sense of emotion through this piece, for sure. I loved it.

    oh my

We have all heard the stories, seen the movies, and thought of the terrors of this world. You paint a "beautiful warning" here. I just wish this planet had never experienced anything like this at anytime -- but, I'm the dreamer of good -- so I stay lost in hope. Thanks for making the point -- hope others get the point.

He came to his senses one fine day
Realized now this was his time to pay
She jumped before him in plain sight
So he leaped for her as he took his own life
