First Breath

In the beginning I was aloud to roam, free,
In this place of majestic beauty
A place without darkness,
A place that knew no loneliness,
Where angels came to sing
Safe from harm, and the devil’s sting
Death, had no chains, and fear was not yet born
He watched over us, wrapped his arms around us
Sheltered us till we were ready, taught all we needed to know
Bathed us in his beauty, wisdom, knowledge and light…
Prepared us….

Then….

Crashing, burning, can’t see, opening, sliding, falling….
Memory slipping, fading away,  light growing bright, giants pulling
Beeping, loneliness, solitude, emptiness, lack, alone…
Crying, pain, heart ache, dread, blood, can’t speak,
For the first time, fear was born in my heart,
As I took in my first breath, and let out a wailing scream…

This is an interesting take on the subject. I like it nonetheless. You go in depth with it all...so many words to describe it all. I really enjoyed reading this. Thank you for entering my contest...Good luck.
