The Garden

Lord I'd like to thank you, for the flowers at my feet
weeds that grow amongst them, for sun our earth to heat
the water that we drink, your rich and fertile land
storms and rains await us, to drench at your command

rocks and swamp we molded, special places we've relaid
drained and turned the soil, jump hurdles that you made
seeding natures garden plot, our hunger drives the toil
weeding lets the best crop, come forth amougst the soil

the honey sweet and vital, the bees by your demand
go about their daily chores, go pollinate the land

rudolf

This kind of reminds me of the style or at least the tone of wendell berry's poetry.

I really liked the natural flow of this much like a stream ambling along towards it's inevitable end.
There is a quiet peace in your words.

    Much enjoyed.

    Uplifting & Inspiring!!!!

This is very uplifting and inspiring! A beautiful piece of the appreciation of Gods gifts that we all to often neglect to thank him for, all of the things we take for granted. The rhyme is great, I am parcial to lyrical rhyme as it is what i do best. This is very well crafted and has a wonderful message...
    God Bless

This just reads beautifully when read aloud - which I often do when I find good poetry with which to do it with. How I am trying to get rid of all the yellow dandilions in the lawn, then my grandkids pick them and give them to me as a lovely flower. Everything in its place - a place for everything on this earth. I do like this poem - and appreciate your prayer in this as well. Wonderful sonnet, lovely images - great idea. Keep writing...

thanks for the wonderful comment,i'm glad you liked my poem
i wrote this as kind of a prayer trying to praise both good and bad things, its the lows that make us embrace the highs.

A song of praises for all the blessings that the lord has bestowed upon us. Even the things most don't see as a blessing has its purpose and reason. You did a beautiful job on this poem.
