Life

One minute, you think you know just how everything is going to be. Everything is going great, you have it all planned, and it seems just the way you want it. Then the next minute, you look at yourself in the mirror and wonder... "Am I really doing the right thing?"

There is no one in this world, other than yourself, that can answer that question for you and that is probably the hardest part about it. Despite the Staples commercials you see on TV, there is no 'EASY' button in life and nearly every road you take is bound to have cracks, bumps, steep hills, rough inclines, sharp turns, and no matter how much light you put on it, there are still places that are very hard to see and what you see is limited.

At times you look at yourself and think about the choices that you have made. When looking at yourself in a 'mirror' you do not see what everyone else sees. You see Yourself, for everything that you are and that in itself can be agonizing.

Decisions are tough, the more important they are, the harder they are to make. Each and every single choice we make, paints our future. What colors will you paint with? Which paint brush will you use? What kind of canvas will you choose?

The more wisdom that you carry, the harder your choices become. The more stupidity you have, the easier your choices become but the punishment for those choices are great. With stupidity is ignorance, and with ignorance there is poor judgement. With wisdom is experience and knowledge, and with experience and knowledge there is a longer, more detailed thought process.

When you know a lot, your decisions are tough because you analyze them for everything they are worth, you critique every move you make, and you spend so much time thinking about what to do that the time you actually spend doing something is minimal.

When you are ignorant to a lot, you take so little time thinking about what to do that in the long run, you wind up spending most of your time paying the consequences for your choices.

The hardest part is finding the balance between the two. Be wise, but do not waste the precious time you have in life. Do not haste, but think clearly of your choices and actions.

Walk along a balance beam.

If you are too careful, too cautious, your muscles and patience will wear thin and you will stumble and fall off.

If you are too careless, you will lose your footing and you will stumble and fall off as well.

Now, walk along your balance beam.
