When I was the tender age of three
A great injustice was done to me
My family was broken apart
As was my young heart
I used to believe in happy ever after
Playing games, joyous laughter
But now there's a place in my soul, dark and cold
Nothing can fill this emotionless hole
When there's no place to turn
Where relations are shattered and love is spurned
There's an unliftable weight on my chest
I hear them ask 'which parent is best?'
Would you want to answer that?
My personal feelings have come up to bat
I feel like I'm on an endless course
To battle with the gluttonous demon Divorce

I've never had my parents get a divorce, but I can only imagine what it is like....I'm sorry. Your words blended together wonderfully with the rhyming scheme. I enjoyed reading this piece. Thank you for entering my contest...good luck.
