Offering Comfort Through Words

I know that it’s cliché and old,
But just remember the silver lining…
He may be gone and so far lost,
But he is in a better place now.

I am but a stranger to you all,
But I still offer words of comfort.
He watches you all from above
And he deeply sends you his love.

Think of memories about him all the time,
And remember his smiles and laughs.
Keep pictures of him around you,
And pray and just keep loving him.

Dream of him at nighttime,
And see the way he has wings.
Listen to his voice calling to you,
And listen to the Angels sing.

Send him your love on holidays,
And at random moments as well.
Thank the Gods for keeping him now,
And his spirit will remain in your hearts.

Author notes

I hope it helps some. I wasn't too sure what to say, becuase I don't want to make it hurt anymore.

May these words offer some comfort.

Thanks for the beautiful poem filled with comfort. I have never lost a family member to suicide till my cousin and i am just bewildered with unimaginable grief. Thanks for the warm fuzzy this piece gave me.

Thats really beautiful and thoughtful. It reminds me of my favorite poem, "Do Not Stand on My Grave and Weep" by Mary E.Frye. It has similar underlying message because your poem is saying that eventhough he's gone, he's still in the heart of the people he loves forever.

    My condolence to the family.
