the sparkle in your eye
the way your tears trace
and how you touch my life
your concern and your gratitude
your genuine thanks
your apologetic sincerity
and that look on your face
your bitten fingernails
and the hands that I hold
the words flowing from your pen
and the stories that you've told
your sense of humor
that I love and adore
your personality unlike
anything I've seen before
your principles and morals,
the way that you teach.
you'll be a great missionary
to those that you preach.
every second my thoughts
turn over to you

For his birthday, his mother had everyone go around the room and say what we appreciated about this wonderful guy.
and that is what has inspired this poem.
although it could never be sufficient to the real deal.
this guy is absolutely amazing.
and it was our one year anniversary yesterday.
