You, The Angel

I see you like a savior now
You help me survive each and every day
I'd kill myself to return the favor
But instead I listen to what you say

Just keep whispering wisdom in my ear
You send me digital smiles when I need them most
You wrap your arms around me when I feel like falling down
You alone, knew I was so close

I thought about returning to nothing
The plan was being etched into stone
Then when I was at my lowest
You came and took me back home

You cancel your plans to make room for mine
You know my calendar franchise won't sustain
Every night there is a new moon out
Except its beauty will never remain

We go out to the movies
Your finger pokes at my jeans
Then I forget where I am
Until I see the armrest in between

You put your favorite blanket in the grass
So we don't get our backs wet
Only the water started seeping through
And I'm seeping farther in your debt

I agree when people say that we're a little bit strange
Because we're clearly obsessed with our hair
We love the way that it feels
We shake our heads so the scent can bless air

Your kindness is like the atmosphere
Because without it I can't breathe
Sometimes it storms on my heart though
And only you know how to make it clean

You still listen to my heartache
I know that you will "always be there"
Then your phone rings until I die
Or at least I sink into such despair

It's clear that you're an angel now
How could it take so long for me to see?
You've come down and put on your earthly costume
Just to help a boy in need

I shouldn't have let you stay around for so long
I don't want you to be consumed by this weight
I'm telling you right now that it's a lost cause
But even though I say this, I still want you to stay

I don't want to think about it
I know that soon you will have to leave
Because college will pull us apart
Then I'll have to wait until I see you again on some heavenly eve.

Author notes

It's just a poem written by a guy about a girl, my best friend. She's the nicest person on this earth. I'll save the rest for another poem.

P.S.
She's also the surgeon.
